There are representatives from all across the university involved. Those involved are UCCS faculty and staff. 

Strategic Enrollment Management Council 

Overview 
The Council is designed with a top-heavy approach and is meant to oversee the progress of the plan and then its continued management. They assist in overseeing the steering committee as well as other committees formed under this plan. 

Responsibilities 

• Strategic oversight and approval – manage and oversee the new plan 
• Strategy prioritization and funding – Assess, evaluate and make plan recommendations
• Evaluate on-going enrollment trends, activities, and initiatives 
• Implement and execute enrollment strategies 

Steering Committee

Overview 
Committee members work on the more day to day aspects of the plan. They are heavily involved in the initial planning and prioritization process and are liaisons between the campus community and the council/executive leadership. This is designed to make the process more accessible for everyone on campus to make their voices heard and be able to ask questions on the plan. 

Responsibilities 

• Coordinate data collection
• Oversee plan work groups 
• Strategy Ideation (Developing effective and efficient strategies to support the plan)
• Review/sharpen strategy action plans 
• Make recommendations to the executive leadership team and SEP Council 
• Prioritize strategies for continued plan management along with ensuring a smooth transition from planning to the implementation and continuation phase

Work Groups 

Overview
There are five work groups involved in the SEP planning process. Each has their own responsibilities and work area they are overseeing. The groups consist of the following:

1. Online and Graduate Student Recruitment and Marketing  
2. Student Financial Aid & Fiscal Health 
3. Student Success 
4. Undergraduate Student Recruitment and Marketing
5. Academic Areas 

Responsibilities 

• Provide analysis and suggestions of what needs to be prioritized in each area to the Steering Committee 
• Gather data, history, and analyze UCCS’ position among peers and competitors to provide context and justification for all plan priorities
• Write the parts of the SEP related to their areas 
• Act as a liaisons between their areas and the campus community

Data Group 

Overview
The data group has representatives from both IR and Enrollment Management leadership. They are experts in data collection and analysis and are assisting in internal collection/information. 

Responsibilities 

• Run and provide information to Council, Steering Committee, and Work Groups as requested 
• Act as resources for all those involved in the planning process
• Make recommendations based on institutional and historic data 

Are students part of these groups?
 
Students are the focus of the project.  While they might not be direct contributors to the project on a day-to-day basis, the overarching purpose is to attract and retain students. We will incorporate curricular and co-curricular planning within SEP. This is fundamentally important because it puts the primary purpose of UCCS at the center of the planning process—to educate and prepare students. Academics and student support education are essential elements at UCCS, so enrollment functions must support our curricular and co-curricular programs to fully realize the UCCS’s educational and university goals.
 

November 2023 – March 2024– Preparation 
The team is working on pulling data, creating analyses, working with our consultant and campus governance groups, to create the basis for the plan and determine priorities.

April 2024– May 2024– Information and Feedback Sessions
The team will present information and where the plan is currently headed to campus. These sessions will be to provide information and to get feedback from those on campus. Priorities and data collection will continue during this time.

June 2024 – July 2024 – Writing 
The team is working on putting everything together, taking into account feedback from campus.

August 2024 – Plan Presentations to campus and other groups

September 2024 – October – Revisions and Sharing

November 2024 – Plan is Completed and Finalized

December 2024 – Plan Implementation

This timeline may be updated as the plan progresses. Updates to the timeline will be posted above. 

There is a submission button where you can submit comments, feedback, and questions on the project. This can be anonymous, or you can request a direct response. These submissions are monitored and will be answered by a member of the SEP planning process. This is the easiest way to contact the SEP planning groups as your submission can be sent directly to the best person to answer it.  

We are currently presenting to various governance groups around campus. There will also be campus wide Q/A and informational sessions. More information will be announced on this.

RNL specializes in higher education, in particular ensuring universities can meet their goals and create more accessible practices that support their students. Our personal consultant is Dr. James Loftus. Dr. Loftus came from enrollment management and later became President of Cardinale Stitch University in Wisconsin. Dr. Loftus meets with planning members on-site once a month and is contact via email and Teams to support ongoing progress and provide insight as we move forward. 

Generally, consultants can facilitate a process that will get expected results in the most efficient and effective way possible. RNL's (Ruffalo Noel Levitz) approach to SEP is built upon an extensive foundation of research and literature review, tempered by nearly 50 years of observations from and experience with more than 3,000 colleges, universities, and educational entities across the country. At the outset, we have invited faculty, administrative leadership, and finance to the table to join enrollment management in identifying institution-wide challenges and developing potential solutions. RNL's methodology is predicated on the firm belief that we must all collaborate to plan for UCCS's long-term health, thus breaking down any organizational silos that inhibit institutional excellence.
